About the Role
The Survey Field Technician is responsible for gathering accurate geospatial information in the field, working closely with land surveyors, engineers, and project managers to support land development, construction, and infrastructure projects. This role involves operating and maintaining surveying instruments, recording measurements, and producing reports that inform project planning and decision‑making. • Conduct field surveys to collect land boundary, topography, and property line data using total stations, GPS receivers, and levels. • Set up, calibrate, and operate surveying instruments, ensuring accurate measurements. • Measure, mark reference points, and establish benchmarks for construction and land development. • Record field notes, sketches, and digital data with specialized software. • Interpret legal documents and survey records to assist with boundary analysis. • Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment. • Collaborate with land surveyors, engineers, and project managers on surveying projects. • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on surveying equipment. • Review and verify collected data for accuracy and completeness. • Generate survey reports and maps to support project planning. • Prioritize safety awareness during all field activities. • Travel to various survey sites and be prepared for out‑of‑town assignments. • Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, and bending during fieldwork.

What You Bring
Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical training or an associate degree in surveying considered a plus. Required skills include proficiency with total stations, GPS receivers, and related software such as AutoCAD, as well as strong attention to detail, physical fitness for outdoor work, and effective communication and safety awareness. • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training is advantageous. • Demonstrate proficiency with surveying instruments, GPS equipment, and software such as AutoCAD. • Maintain physical fitness to work outdoors in diverse weather and rugged terrain. • Exhibit strong attention to detail and precision in data collection. • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders. • Hold required surveying technician certification or licensure where applicable.

Field work is primarily outdoors and may involve travel to multiple sites, exposure to varying weather conditions, and physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, and bending. Compensation for California positions ranges from $30.00 to $40.00 per hour, with potential adjustments based on experience, and may include restricted stock units, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, 401(k), and professional development opportunities. • Eligible for base pay $30‑$40 per hour, with possible restricted stock units and full benefits package.
