About the Role
The Assistant Superintendent will lead, direct, and coordinate the work of subcontractors and Turner trade labor on the Cleveland, OH construction project. Reporting to the Superintendent or Project Superintendent, this role holds supervisory responsibility for Field Engineers, interns, and trade labor within the assigned areas. The position is responsible for overseeing scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and staffing levels across assigned trades, while ensuring coordinated operations and resolving local issues such as design clarifications and equipment needs. It also manages the site safety program, supervises field staff, creates and sequences work schedules, and implements recovery strategies to keep the project on track. Communication with owners, architects, and engineers to address field issues and oversight of billing, payroll, and subcontractor payments are also key components. • Oversee scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and staffing for assigned trades. • Coordinate work among trades, resolve procedural and design issues, and ensure adequate labor and equipment. • Manage the site safety program and enforce compliance with Turner standards and safety regulations. • Supervise and develop Field Engineers and interns, including conducting performance appraisals. • Create work schedules, determine sequencing, and implement recovery strategies to maintain the project timeline. • Communicate with owners and architects/engineers to investigate and resolve field issues. • Manage billing processes, work-in-place estimates, payroll, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications. • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, labor agreements, and local codes. • Ensure all installed work complies with approved contract documents.

What You Bring
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) and at least two years of related construction experience. Required skills include strong written and verbal communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office, the ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications, and demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities. The job requires regular on-site work in a construction environment, involving climbing stairs and ladders, using hoists, and navigating under-construction areas. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and have adequate vision for close and peripheral tasks. The work setting may expose personnel to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, weather conditions, electrical hazards, and moderate to very loud noise. • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and minimum two years of related experience. • Strong written and verbal communication abilities. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules. • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

The role offers a salaried exempt position with an annual salary range of $71,000 to $89,000.
