Fire & Life Safety Specialist (Fire Alarm)
Design fire alarm systems in BIM, coordinate with engineers/architects, ensure code compliance

About the Role
• Create fire alarm system designs in BIM models using provided design data, including sketches, details, and calculations. • Generate contract documents from the BIM model and execute other BIM uses per planning documents. • Integrate design analysis software and models with Revit (preferred). • Apply NFPA and industry standards to fire alarm system designs. • Provide multi‑discipline facility design expertise from concept through construction and coordinate across disciplines. • Collaborate with engineers and architects with minimal supervision. • Work with applicable codes, FLS criteria, material specifications, BIM integration, and review shop drawings, CPRs, and RFIs (preferred). • Interact with internal and external clients; occasional travel may be required. • Support continuous improvement of drafting and production standards. • Build strong relationships with project managers, teams, FLS teammates, and clients.

We bring together mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering expertise to solve complex design challenges with precision, creativity, and collaboration. • Lead coordination among consultants, disciplines, and project team members; demonstrate strong leadership and communication. • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Minimum two years of fire alarm design experience or related facility design exposure. • NICET certification or Bachelor of Science degree (preferred). • Proficiency with Autodesk products, especially Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and PDF creation tools such as Bluebeam and Adobe. • Ability to collaborate positively in a team environment. • Highly motivated, improvement‑focused, and willing to tackle new challenges. • Associate degree in a related field or high school diploma with relevant experience. • Entry‑level NFPA, ICC, or other fire & life safety certifications. • Strong AutoCAD and Microsoft Office computer skills. • Experience with specialty software needed for area‑specific designs.
