About the Role
In this role you will oversee the delivery of ESS guidance, support the Protective Security Strategy, and collaborate with IT/OT teams, third‑party integrators and Tier 1 contractors to implement compliant security upgrades. You will maintain core systems such as CCTV, IDS, access control and PSIM, and drive improvements through AI, automation and digital integration while working closely with the Alarm Monitoring Centre. Employees are part of a 24/7 incident support team, with on‑call duties to ensure swift resolution of issues for customers. While flexible working requests are considered, the role may require regional travel and eligibility for SC security clearance. Candidates who are passionate about making a positive impact are welcome to apply. • Provide expert guidance on electronic security systems (ESS) supporting the Protective Security Strategy. • Ensure security upgrades and projects comply with Southern Water policies, legislation, and NPSA standards. • Collaborate with IT/OT teams, integrators, and Tier 1 contractors to deliver compliant security projects. • Maintain and optimise core systems such as CCTV, IDS, Access Control, and PSIM. • Drive improvements using AI, automation, and digital integration; work with the Alarm Monitoring Centre. • Manage relationships with system providers and stay updated on technology roadmaps. • Promote security awareness across the business and participate in on‑call duties. • Maintain membership in a recognised security body and commit to continuing professional development (CPD).

What You Bring
• Possess 5+ years of security engineering experience, preferably in the water sector, with strong ESS design expertise. • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and compliance auditing. • Hold a full UK driving licence, own vehicle, and be eligible for SC security clearance. • Exhibit strong stakeholder management, communication, and independent project handling abilities.
