About the Role

The engineer will produce written reports, presentations and progress data, act as the primary technical lead for field engineering issues such as CCTV cameras, access‑control hardware, low‑voltage power and communications, conduit systems, grounding, bonding and surge protection, and interoperability between electronic security systems (ESS) and supporting electrical systems. Responsibilities include overseeing cybersecurity‑related activities, coordinating with contractors, A‑E firms, SCMO staff and SMEs, developing scope of work, estimates and schedule impacts, reviewing contractor submittals and RFIs, attending construction meetings, and conducting technical compliance inspections. • Serve as primary technical lead for the sector construction management office. • Generate written reports, presentations and compile project progress data. • Oversee installation of CCTV cameras, poles, mounts and related field devices. • Manage access‑control hardware and low‑voltage power/communications infrastructure. • Supervise conduit systems, cabinets, grounding, bonding and surge protection. • Ensure interoperability between electronic security systems and supporting electrical systems. • Direct cybersecurity‑related activities and coordinate contract efforts. • Review contractor submittals, RFIs and provide technical recommendations. • Conduct technical compliance inspections and quality‑control reviews. • Develop scope of work, cost estimates and schedule impacts for field changes. • Participate in pre‑construction, performance and progress meetings.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems or Computer Engineering, a minimum of ten years’ experience in electronic security, low‑voltage or facility‑related control systems on construction projects, U.S. citizenship with ability to pass federal background checks, a valid driver’s license, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must have practical knowledge of CCTV, access‑control, low‑voltage distribution, conduit, cybersecurity, grounding, and networked ESS environments, as well as experience with web‑based project management information systems for submittals and quality‑assurance reporting. Desired credentials are registration as a Professional Engineer, PMP or CCM certification, experience with large federal agencies (DoD or others), prior work on large remote construction projects, completion of a Construction Quality Management course, and OSHA 30‑hour safety training. The position is based in one of three Sector Construction Management Offices (San Diego, CA; El Paso, TX; or Edinburg, TX) with occasional travel to remote sites. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems or Computer Engineering. • Bring 10+ years of experience in electronic security and low‑voltage construction projects. • Possess U.S. citizenship, pass federal background checks and hold a valid driver’s license. • Desired: Professional Engineer registration, PMP or CCM certification, OSHA 30‑hour training, and experience with large federal agencies.
