About the Role
As a Punching Operator on the East Longmeadow, MA team, you will set up and run automatic punch presses to produce milled and soft‑steel band blades, following production orders, installing dies, adjusting guides, and ensuring dimensions meet specifications. The role requires monitoring the press, making minor adjustments, collecting finished blades, packaging, and supporting heat‑treat operations, while reporting any equipment defects and adhering to safety procedures. • Set up automatic punch presses, install and change dies, adjust guides and clamps. • Thread soft‑steel band, use micrometers or gauges to verify first piece dimensions. • Activate and monitor continuous operation, making adjustments to maintain quality. • Collect, pack, and transport finished blades using power lift. • Assist with blade positioning for heat‑treat and operate vacuum furnaces when needed. • Report dull dies, defective equipment, unsafe conditions, and follow safety rules.

The position works a rotating shift of Mon‑Wed 5 pm–5 am and Thu 5 pm–11 pm, with a base rate of $19.96‑$20.97 per hour plus a 9 % shift differential.
