About the Role

• Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications and project special provisions to verify compliance to material quality • Utilize applicable ASTM , AASHTO construction and project specific specifications • Perform third party DOT structural steel fabrication quality assurance inspection and reporting • Perform Visual (VT) Testing inspection per applicable code requirements.

What You Bring

• American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)-will be verified through www.aws.org • Familiarity with geometric in-process dimensional verification including lay-down and progressive assembly to ensure fitment during erection. • Ability to develop and maintain client relations. • Strong verbal and written communication skills • 3 years minimum project experience with structural steel fabrication • NDT Level I or Level II certification, UT, MT, PT or Radiographic Film Interpretation • Proficiency in using the following: Laptop computer, cell (smart) phone, scanner and printer • AMPP coating certification or other experience inspecting application of coatings on structural steel. • Familiarity with inspecting and reporting high strength (Grade 325) bolts testing (rotational capacity/preinstallation verification) and reporting. • ICC Structural Bolting certification or other experience inspecting high strength bolt testing and installation. • Good Driving Record (driver license will be verified) • Pass pre-hire drug screening/testing • Ability to work closely with other fabrication, construction and quality personnel in a courteous and professional manner • Previous bridge or similar fabrication inspection (QC or QA) experience. • Familiarity and experience with AASHTO/AWS D1.5 / AASHTO/AWS D1.1. • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, internet, report writing, adding photographs and other files within reports and as attachments.
