About the Role

The Yard Associate at R.P. Lumber in Clinton, MO ensures customers receive prompt, courteous service while maintaining safety, accountability, and cleanliness in the yard. They also support delivery operations, handling product flow and assisting with load building and unloading. The role reports to the Yard Manager and involves greeting customers, loading and unloading materials, operating forklifts, building loads, assisting drivers, responding to inquiries, and maintaining inventory displays and pricing according to merchandising standards. • Greet customers and contractors courteously upon entry. • Load materials onto customer or company vehicles, verifying type and quantity via POS records. • Unload incoming freight carefully to avoid damage. • Operate forklift to merchandise and stock the yard and warehouse. • Build accurate delivery loads and prepare materials for shipment. • Assist truck drivers delivering merchandise to homes and job sites. • Respond to product, pricing, order, and delivery inquiries, providing follow‑up as needed. • Maintain inventory, product displays, and pricing labels, ensuring organized and safe storage. • Enforce all safety rules and policies established by management. • Follow company safety expectations for material handling and transport. • Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, management, and team members. • Apply common‑sense understanding to follow simple instructions. • Provide professional customer service in a team‑oriented environment. • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
