About the Role

The Business Development Engineer will assist the sales team in creating proposals, generating new leads, and engaging with clients for federal projects across the United States. The role can be performed remotely from any U.S. location but requires 25‑30 % travel to support sites nationwide. The position reports to the General Manager, Regional Sales Manager, or Business Development Manager. • Write proposals, develop marketing presentations, and organize internal resources for assigned prospects. • Research and identify qualified target areas, projects, and clients. • Generate new sales leads through cold calling, market research, and industry event participation. • Create and maintain opportunity lists for the local region. • Support the operational sales organization, including Account Executives and Market Directors. • Administer the CRM system, handling proposal and contract authorizations, outcome reports, and scorecards. • Conduct client follow‑up and maintain ongoing relationships. • Participate in contract reviews and coordinate proposals with the Marketing group. • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements. • May supervise other Business Development Engineers.

What You Bring

The job involves regular on‑site work in construction environments, exposing the employee to moving equipment, heights, weather conditions, and potential electrical hazards. Physical requirements include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 lb, and using visual and manual skills to perform tasks safely. • Hold a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of construction industry experience, with knowledge of commercial construction and preconstruction processes. • Demonstrate initiative, leadership, independent thinking, and strong problem‑solving abilities in a team environment. • Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and advanced presentation/sales skills. • Be willing to attend early‑morning or late‑evening meetings and networking events.
