About the Role

The Compliance Services Team Lead will manage current opportunities while shaping a forward‑looking plan for the team. Responsibilities include organizational leadership—providing dynamic management, aligning staff with career goals, supervising and mentoring project managers, technical staff, and field inspectors, hiring new compliance personnel, monitoring productivity, and ensuring safety compliance. Technical leadership duties involve conducting quality assurance/quality control reviews, delivering high‑quality technical work such as SWPPPs, BMPs, construction monitoring, spill prevention, data management, analysis, and reporting. Client leadership requires building strong client relationships, overseeing project performance to meet schedule and budget, collaborating with business development to assess market conditions, leading proposal efforts, making go/no‑go decisions, and expanding the regional client base through industry and agency networks. • Lead and mentor compliance staff, including project managers, technical staff, and field inspectors. • Align team members with annual career development goals and drive productivity. • Hire and onboard new compliance personnel, such as environmental inspectors. • Conduct QA/QC reviews and ensure high‑quality deliverables (SWPPPs, BMPs, monitoring, reporting). • Maintain safety policy compliance and oversee reporting requirements. • Build and sustain strong client relationships; manage project scope, schedule, and budget. • Collaborate with business development to identify market opportunities and lead proposal efforts. • Make go/no‑go decisions on proposals in partnership with senior leadership. • Expand regional client base through industry and agency network engagement.

SWCA is seeking a Compliance Services Team Lead to support national construction compliance services, including environmental inspections. The role reports to the Senior Compliance Manager in Houston and involves leading staff, managing construction and operational compliance projects, and serving clients. This full‑time salaried position is based in Houston, TX, with hybrid or remote work possible for candidates residing in Texas or Louisiana, requiring travel to the office and project sites. Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field, at least six years of progressive environmental consulting experience, familiarity with federal, state, and local environmental regulations for large‑scale energy infrastructure, strong communication skills, and the ability to pass a motor‑vehicle screening. Preferred qualifications include eight or more years of experience, three to five years of compliance project leadership, proven supervisory and business‑development success, and credibility with agencies and clients. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field. • Minimum six years’ progressive environmental consulting experience; knowledge of relevant regulations. • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; pass motor‑vehicle screening. • Preferred: eight+ years’ experience, 3‑5 years compliance project leadership, supervisory experience, proven business‑development track record.
