About the Role
The Bridges and Structures Section Manager will lead the structures team, overseeing staff development, project profitability, morale, and quality control while acting as a Project Manager or Project Engineer on large, complex infrastructure projects. This role also involves business development planning, client management, proposal preparation, and ensuring work follows a proactive project‑management system. Collaboration with other Area Section Managers is essential to balance workloads, identify training opportunities, and pursue new business. The manager will drive business development in the Mechanicsburg region, establish strong client relationships, and mentor less‑experienced engineers, serving as the technical expert for bridge design and analysis. • Lead and grow the structures team, overseeing staff management, project delivery, profitability, morale, and quality control. • Serve as Project Manager or Project Engineer on large, complex infrastructure projects. • Coordinate with Area Section Managers to balance workloads, identify training, and pursue business development opportunities. • Lead multi‑disciplinary transportation design teams for local and work‑share projects. • Perform technical design and load rating for DOT and local agency highway bridges. • Drive business development in Mechanicsburg, including marketing planning and client management. • Establish and nurture client relationships, marketing services to new and existing clients. • Develop proposals, project scopes, schedules, and budgets. • Mentor less‑experienced staff and act as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design. • Independently coordinate engineers and balance project delivery teams throughout development. • Conduct analyses, develop design solutions, and prepare drawings, calculations, and specifications for bridge projects, reviewing others' work as needed. • Perform quality‑control reviews of bridge design deliverables.

What You Bring
• BS in Civil Engineering (MS in Structural Engineering preferred). • PE license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain within six months of hire. • Minimum 10 years bridge/structural design experience with hands‑on project execution. • Proficiency in MicroStation, structural analysis and bridge design software, and Microsoft Office. • In‑depth knowledge of LRFD Bridge Design Code. • Strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills. • Ability to manage multiple assignments and drive business development. • Experience managing staff, clients, and contracts; local candidates preferred. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • At least 7 years relevant experience. • Professional registration, license, or certification as required. • Strong communication, listening, leadership, and organizational skills.
