About the Role
Under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, the Utility Mechanic performs functions that do not require the expertise of a Stationary Engineer and supports the implementation and documentation of site safety plans, ABM operational standards, and site‑specific engineering policies and procedures. • Maintain and clean mechanical, electrical, and shop areas. • Coordinate parts, supplies, and equipment with local vendors and inventory. • Perform routine maintenance and simple procedures. • Complete miscellaneous tasks assigned by the Chief Engineer. • Promote energy conservation and continuous improvement in engineering. • Record daily data in building logbooks. • Process administrative paperwork per departmental policies. • Serve as an active team member committed to quality service. • Adhere to ABM and facility policies, including safety programs. • Maintain regular workplace attendance. • Deliver high‑quality service to tenants, staff, and visitors. • Communicate regularly with Chief Engineer, management, tenants, and staff. • Use computer systems to interact with building and ABM software.
