About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for the overall technical excellence of projects, coordinating multidisciplinary efforts, and ensuring designs meet client criteria and scope. You will collaborate with project teams, assist the project manager, and contribute to technical reporting and documentation. • Lead technical excellence and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts for DOT projects. • Design horizontal and vertical roadway alignments, super‑elevation, ramps, interchanges, and road apertures. • Perform quantity calculations and develop project estimates. • Manage associate engineers to deliver project deliverables on schedule. • Produce construction, detour, signing, marking, and erosion‑control drawings. • Assist the project manager with deliverables and ensure compliance with client scope. • Prepare technical reports and documentation for clients and internal management. • Gather, analyze, and circulate technical and contractual information to project teams. • Support scope development, commercial performance, and resource allocation for project success. • Identify new project pursuits and lead responses to client RFPs/qualifications.

What You Bring

The firm is seeking an experienced Senior‑to‑Principal level Civil Roadway & Highway Engineer to support the design engineering of diverse Department of Transportation projects and major regional initiatives. Candidates should hold a four‑year degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, possess at least eight years of roadway and highway design experience with state or federal DOT projects, and be proficient in MicroStation platforms such as Inroads, OpenRoads, or GeoPak. A Professional Engineer license is highly preferred, and no security clearance is required. • Hold a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. • Possess at least eight years of roadway/highway design experience with state or federal DOT projects. • Demonstrate proficiency in MicroStation (Inroads, OpenRoads, or GeoPak). • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
