About the Role

The role is part of AECOM's Energy team, covering Transmission & Distribution, Renewables, and Nuclear de‑commissioning, and is embedded within the expanding digital scope. Candidates will join either the central Digital Energy Team or one of the three practice areas, contributing to major programmes such as the National Grid Great Grid Upgrade while holding senior project information or BIM management responsibilities. The position focuses on leading the definition and implementation of ISO 19650 information management frameworks, establishing quality and governance processes, and representing AECOM as a thought leader in digital infrastructure delivery. It also involves developing BIM execution plans, managing Common Data Environments, and driving innovation and R&D initiatives to maintain AECOM’s competitive edge. • Lead definition and implementation of ISO 19650 information management frameworks for major programmes. • Interface directly with senior client stakeholders and digital delivery teams to align strategic objectives. • Establish quality management systems and governance processes for digital information delivery. • Represent AECOM at senior stakeholder meetings and industry forums as a digital infrastructure thought leader. • Develop and manage ISO 19650 documentation suite (EIR, BEP, MIDP, TIDP, etc.) for large projects. • Configure and manage Common Data Environment (CDE) systems to ensure compliant information exchange. • Support Information Managers in CDE configuration and alignment with exchange processes. • Define BIM Execution Plans and coordinate with GIS and BIM specialists to meet EIR requirements. • Own Master Information Delivery Plans and ensure they are agreed and managed per framework. • Assess delivery team capacity and capability for information delivery tasks. • Oversee information delivery assurance against agreed acceptance criteria. • Implement BIM and digital delivery processes, including 3D/4D/5D integration and data management. • Lead assessment and implementation of digital tools supporting Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). • Support verification of BIM/digital delivery capabilities for engineering, consenting, and construction. • Define and implement digital integration of data, systems, and processes across teams. • Develop and customize software tools, including CAD‑GIS integration and immersive visualization solutions. • Provide technical support for digital engineering technologies, BIM software, and 3D graphics applications. • Establish training programmes and communication materials to ensure consistent delivery standards. • Identify and develop new business opportunities within digital information management and BIM services. • Lead proposal development for digital delivery components of major infrastructure bids. • Drive innovation initiatives and R&D activities to maintain competitive advantage.

What You Bring

Ideal candidates have extensive experience in information management on large infrastructure programmes, a degree in engineering, architecture or a related field, and proven expertise in ISO 19650 implementation, BIM, GIS integration, and Common Data Environment platforms. Desirable qualifications include chartered status, ISO 19650 Lead Implementer certification, project management credentials, and experience with emerging technologies such as AI/ML, VR/AR, and digital twins.
