About the Role
The Data Operations Associate, based in Nashville, reports to the Manager of Data Operations and plays a vital role on the STR Data Operations Team. The position is responsible for loading data, performing quality checks, and delivering reports for the benchmarking product, as well as supporting client‑related administrative tasks, automating and managing data feeds, and facilitating data exchange between STR and its clients. Key responsibilities include loading performance data from corporate submissions, automated feeds, and manual files; conducting data quality checks and resolving discrepancies; communicating with properties, clients, and industry professionals; notifying the research department of census issues; monitoring participation levels; performing daily, weekly, and monthly processing procedures; responding to client emails; running pre‑processing checks; generating, verifying, and sending reports; acting as an internal point of contact for data queries; managing workflow requests; assisting clients in automating data submissions; identifying new automation opportunities with technology vendors; supporting growth in data participation; maintaining delivery schedules; partnering with IT and Global Data Operations to resolve issues; updating report setups per client requests; and adhering to confidentiality standards. • Load and validate performance data from corporate submissions, automated feeds, and manual files. • Perform data quality checks, research issues, and accept or reject data. • Communicate with property owners, clients, and industry professionals to resolve data discrepancies and explain policies. • Notify the research department of census‑related issues and assist internal stakeholders in improving participation. • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly processing procedures and pre‑processing checks. • Respond promptly to client inquiries via email and generate, verify, and distribute reports. • Serve as internal point of contact for data queries and manage workflow requests. • Help clients automate data submissions and identify new automation opportunities with technology vendors. • Partner with IT and Global Data Operations to resolve delivery issues efficiently. • Update report setups per client requests while maintaining data confidentiality.

What You Bring
The team handles diverse data types, including historical, forward‑booking, and P&L data. Success in this role requires a self‑motivated, detail‑oriented individual with strong analytical, interpersonal, and commercial skills, capable of managing customer requests independently and delivering accurate, timely solutions while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality. Basic qualifications include a bachelor's degree, 1–2 years of relevant experience, strong data manipulation skills, proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Preferred qualifications encompass a degree in hospitality, data, business, or finance, familiarity with STR products, hospitality technology (PMS, RMS, BI tools), hotel/travel industry experience, financial literacy, and experience with API integrations and SFTP data transfers. • Hold a bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years relevant experience with strong analytical and Excel skills. • Preferred: hospitality or finance background, knowledge of PMS, RMS, BI tools, API/SFTP integrations, and financial statements.
