About the Role
The Senior Software Engineer will join the Platform Engineering team in Irvine, CA, working Monday‑through‑Thursday in the office with the option to work from home on Fridays. The role focuses on building and scaling API‑driven microservices that serve as the backbone for all Matterport products, handling billions of monthly requests. • Design, implement, and deploy new features and services • Build features using Kotlin, Python, and front‑end technologies • Develop APIs, backend services, and integrations supporting Matterport products • Work with relational and non‑relational data stores • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and QA • Monitor live environments and respond to issues • Mentor and coach junior engineers

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field • 5+ years developing SaaS solutions with modern OOP languages (Java or server‑side Kotlin) • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes microservices • Experience with messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ or Kafka • Experience with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL) • Proven ability to write testable, maintainable, well‑documented code • Demonstrated commitment to prior employers • Familiarity with Python and Elasticsearch • Experience with Autodesk Revit or other BIM software • Exposure to non‑relational stores like FoundationDB • Knowledge of UI frameworks such as React or Angular • Experience with Microsoft stack technologies (C#, .NET Core, MySQL)
