What You Bring
The Mechatronics Junior Technician Apprentice program teaches participants to install, alter, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic, mechanical, computer, control, and robotics equipment in a complex fulfillment/distribution center through classroom, laboratory, and on‑the‑job training while adhering to health and safety policies. Apprentices follow work processes closely, shadow technical advisors, and collaborate within team environments both in school and on the shop floor. They work with technical documentation, computers, material‑transfer conveyors, and learn to identify and resolve malfunctions under experienced guidance, as well as gain hands‑on experience with PLCs and robotics alongside automation engineers. As a Mechatronics Junior Technician, the role combines electronic, mechanical, computer, and control skills to service high‑performance manufacturing systems. Responsibilities include scheduled, predictive, and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, coordinating with other technicians, communicating with machine operators, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Required qualifications include being 18 years or older, possessing a high school diploma or GED, achieving a minimum score on a Mechanical Aptitude Test, basic computer skills, and the ability to travel for a 12‑week training at one of three sites in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, or Texas. Preferred qualifications are at least one year of experience in preventive or predictive maintenance, working with mechanical or electrical components, and handling compressors and pneumatics. The position demands physical endurance, including repetitive bending, crouching, lifting parts averaging 20 lb (up to 49 lb), and dexterity for eye‑hand coordination. Working conditions may involve confined spaces, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, noise, vibration, concrete floors, heights, and moving bulky equipment. This on‑site role is based in Kenosha, WI, does not provide visa sponsorship, and requires candidates to be authorized to work in the United States. • Meet minimum requirements: 18+, high school diploma/GED, pass mechanical aptitude test, basic computer proficiency, and ability to travel for 12‑week training. • Preferred: ≥1 year experience in preventive maintenance, mechanical/electrical components, compressors, and pneumatics.
