About the Role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Team Manager (General Services) supports integrated service delivery and Ventia’s whole‑of‑asset focus, overseeing General Services teams that deliver sanitation and waste, hard services and open space services. The role includes on‑call responsibilities. • Recruit, onboard and train team members. • Create rosters and delegate duties. • Verify time records and approve leave applications. • Analyse vehicle monitoring and phone data. • Coach and mentor staff to achieve business and client outcomes. • Manage performance and conduct disciplinary processes. • Deliver engaging toolbox talks and training, and incorporate operational feedback. • Measure staff engagement and productivity via surveys, transaction activity and turnover. • Ensure compliance with Ventia Code of Conduct. • Process customer complaints. • Maintain service level agreement targets. • Adhere to purchasing, work allocation and administrative system procedures. • Grow self‑delivery capacity for hard‑surface projects over $1K. • Increase minor capex spend from Auckland Council into the business unit. • Provide credible supervision of a diverse workforce.

What You Bring

• Possess relevant experience in sanitation, waste or hard‑surface delivery. • Hold CPR and First Aid certification. • Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence. • Understand workplace health and safety practices. • Know safe use, storage and handling of power tools. • Be familiar with current industry standards for trade services. • Operate industrial equipment competently. • Have 5+ years of supervisory/management experience overseeing large asset volumes and service schedules.
