About the Role

The incumbent will inspect and Hi-Pot test switchboard products produced on all lines, following inspection work instructions and applicable governmental requirements to verify proper function, safety, and quality. Electrical testing will be performed with Hi-Pot, continuity testers, torque wrenches, and component-specific devices, and all inspections will be documented on the appropriate checklists. You will verify torqued connections, examine mating structures, and ensure that any released revisions are incorporated and reflected in current documentation, discarding outdated paperwork. Component literature and required product documentation must accompany each job, and any non-conformances are to be thoroughly recorded and communicated to support rework and continuous improvement. • Inspect and Hi-Pot test switchboard products on all lines per work instructions and regulatory standards. • Perform electrical and mechanical tests using Hi-Pot, continuity testers, torque wrenches, and component-specific devices. • Verify torqued connections and examine mating structures to ensure proper installation. • Ensure released revisions are incorporated and documentation reflects the current revision. • Document inspections, non-conformances, and rework on checklists, POM, and test reports. • Communicate design errors and coordinate corrections with front-end personnel. • Identify suspect product at all times to prevent unintended use.

What You Bring

The role requires a high-school diploma or GED; an associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics is preferred, along with a minimum of two years manufacturing experience. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and reside within a 50-mile radius of the Sumter facility, as no relocation benefit is offered. Required knowledge includes basic electricity, current flow, component functionality, and familiarity with assembled switchboard designs such as PRL-C, PRL-I, IFS, FDS, and MF. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), understanding of UL, NEC, regional utility, and customer-specific codes, and the ability to read and interpret manufacturing documents, engineering drawings, and testing procedures are essential. The job is fast-paced, demands multi-tasking, and carries high accountability, requiring the ability to perform under pressure and meet high expectations. • Possess a high school diploma/GED; associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics preferred. • Minimum two years of manufacturing experience; authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Knowledge of basic electricity, UL/NEC codes, and assembled switchboard designs. • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). • Able to read and interpret manufacturing documents, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
