About the Role

The Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining the mechanical and/or electrical components of mining equipment and related operational parts, in accordance with defined specifications. Key duties include following the scope of work within time constraints to meet delivery targets, inspecting equipment to ensure proper operation, adjusting and repairing or replacing defective components, and verifying that repaired equipment meets original manufacturing specifications. The role also requires compiling estimates for parts and labour, communicating additional repairs to the supervisor, accurately completing time sheets, technical and failure reports, and maintaining strong relationships with workshop staff and internal and external customers. Health, safety and environmental responsibilities involve adhering to company and regulatory safety policies, identifying and reporting hazardous work habits or incidents, performing a “Take 5” risk assessment before each task, maintaining tools and equipment, keeping the workplace orderly, attending HSE training and wearing the required personal protective equipment. • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on mining equipment. • Inspect equipment, adjust, replace components, and verify functionality per original specifications. • Prepare accurate time sheets, technical reports, failure reports and parts lists. • Communicate repair estimates and additional work to the supervisor; maintain good relationships with workshop staff and internal/external customers. • Follow safety policies: conduct “Take 5” risk assessments, report hazards, maintain tools, keep work area orderly, wear required PPE and attend HSE training.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a relevant diploma or certificate (mechanical/electrical) or possess equivalent heavy‑equipment experience, with three to five years of mining‑equipment background. Preferred experience includes prior work with Sandvik products, the ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics, strong diagnostic skills, effective written and verbal communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office and flexibility to work varied schedules. • Read hydraulic and electrical schematics; possess 3–5 years of heavy‑equipment experience, preferably with Sandvik products. • Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with Microsoft Office; flexible to varied work schedules.
