About the Role
• Provide technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing competitive product applications and solutions. • Support leaders in delivering revenue commitments. • Estimate BH equipment and system performance, hardware, and price for budgetary estimates for new units and upgrades of centrifugal compressors per API 617, including balance‑of‑plant and auxiliary systems. • Assess competitive system performance and hardware throughout the entire bid process. • Align sub‑vendor proposals with customer requisitions and applicable technical specifications, guaranteeing quality, completeness, and timeliness. • Participate in risk assessment, deal‑strategy, and cost‑out reviews during proposal preparation to define optimal technical solutions. • Support bid reviews and proposal clarification meetings. • Perform cycle and equipment comparisons to establish the economically optimum/BH‑preferred cycle and configuration, communicating results to commercial teams and application engineers. • Respond to technical questions regarding products and system solutions. • Develop and maintain documentation of processes and information used within the evaluation, analysis, and pricing group to ensure consistency, knowledge sharing, and training resources. • Provide performance data and hardware definitions, working with Engineering and Sales to assure technical support of proposals. • Deliver accurate and timely data, interfacing with internal and external customers. • Communicate project status openly with management to facilitate business‑strategy evolution and improve hit rate on current and future projects. • Manage daily priorities and work on assigned projects or processes. • Establish working relationships using clear and concise written and verbal communication.

The Application Engineer leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact for downstream and upstream Turbomachinery Solutions at the regional and global level. In this role you will manage major, complex assignments with long‑term business implications, handle intricate application‑engineering issues, and contribute to the overall business strategy. The position requires mastery of theoretical knowledge and a strong foundation of functional skills and relevant technologies. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (or a high‑school diploma/GED with at least ten years of engineering/technology experience) and a minimum of five years of experience in customer application engineering for centrifugal compressors. Desired characteristics are strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities, and the capacity to influence others and lead small teams. The candidate should be able to coordinate multiple projects, identify problems effectively, and provide analytical and organizational solutions. • Use effective problem‑solving skills and document results of generated technical data.
