Assist in installing and maintaining aerial/underground telecom cables as a trainee.

About the Role
You will support all phases of utility construction for telecom projects, assisting linemen with their duties and handling both aerial and buried cable installations. Your work will include connecting wires to terminals, performing aerial tasks such as pole transfers and cable hanging, and conducting construction activities like digging holes and placing conduit systems. You will also climb utility poles or operate aerial lift trucks to place cables according to system designs. • Assist linemen with task completion. • Install aerial and buried telecom cables (copper and fiber). • Connect wires and cables to terminals and hardware. • Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing. • Dig holes and place cable, air pipe, and inner duct in conduit systems and excavations. • Climb utility poles or operate aerial lift trucks to position cables per design.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate prioritizes safety, delivers high‑quality work, and enjoys hands‑on problem solving. You are an experienced lineman comfortable working from bucket trucks and climbing poles, possess a valid Class A CDL or can obtain one, and have basic experience with copper and fiber telecom cable placement. You thrive in team settings, are committed to long‑term projects, and are eager to get your hands dirty. • Prior lineman experience with knowledge of aerial work equipment. • Ability to work safely, including bucket‑truck operation and pole climbing. • Valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain one with a clean record. • Basic experience installing copper and fiber telecommunications cable. • Strong problem‑solving skills and commitment to high‑quality work. • Team‑oriented, willing to work long‑term projects and get hands‑dirty.
