About the Role

In this role you will lead the technical design of building projects while managing multiple assignments, budgets, schedules, and client communications. You will attend site visits and client meetings, collaborate with engineers and architects, and coordinate design efforts across disciplines to meet client expectations for cost, timing, and quality. Continuous learning in design software and local codes is expected, as is participation in budget estimates and proposal preparation. • Perform hands‑on technical design of building projects. • Oversee multiple projects, managing budgets, schedules, and client communications. • Attend project site visits and client meetings. • Collaborate with engineers and architects to deliver project deliverables. • Coordinate design work across engineering and architectural disciplines. • Meet client expectations for cost, schedule, and quality. • Increase proficiency in design, modeling, and analysis software (Revit, ETABS, RISA, RAM, Enercalc, Excel, SteelSmart, Simpson CFS Designer). • Expand knowledge of local codes and industry standards. • Assist with budget estimates and proposal write‑ups. • Prepare calculation packages for agency submittals (DSA, HCAI preferred).

We seek 1–4 years of experience designing concrete, steel, masonry, or wood structures, especially in high‑seismic regions. Proficiency with industry‑standard software such as ETABS, RISA, RAM, Enercalc, Excel, and Revit, as well as experience preparing calculation packages for agency submittals, is required. Experience with seismic evaluations per ASCE 41 and LEED‑related work is advantageous. • Hold a B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering (M.S. preferred). • Possess EIT certification; PE license is a plus. • Have 1–4 years of structural design experience with concrete, steel, masonry, or wood. • Understand building codes, standards, and construction practices for high‑seismic regions. • Be proficient in industry‑standard software (ETABS, RISA, RAM, Enercalc, Excel). • Demonstrate Revit modeling and construction drawing experience. • Experience conducting seismic evaluations and retrofits per ASCE 41.
