About the Role

The Laborer performs manual labor tasks associated with many facets of the construction job site. They are responsible for producing high‑quality work safely and productively, ensuring that materials, tools, equipment and information are available. The role involves looking for improvement opportunities and learning from others while understanding safety hazards and proper tool use. Work may be performed in plant operations or construction jobsite settings. The position involves general clean‑up, digging footings with hand tools, back filling, loading and unloading materials, and stripping concrete forms. The Laborer operates power tools such as vibrators, compactors, jackhammers, and chipping guns, and prepares sites by digging trenches, setting braces, and removing rubble. Additional duties include performing other physical tasks that require minimal skill and assisting other craft workers as needed. • Perform general clean‑up and site preparation • Dig footings and trenches using hand tools • Load and unload construction materials • Strip concrete forms • Operate power tools (vibrators, compactors, jackhammers, chipping guns) • Set braces to support excavation sides and remove rubble/debris • Assist other craft workers with physical tasks

What You Bring

The role requires the ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 lb regularly and up to 100 lb occasionally, with frequent repetitive hand/arm and leg use. The worker must have good hand‑eye coordination, be able to climb and balance on steel or wood frameworks, stairs, ladders and scaffolds, and work in various positions such as bending, crawling, kneeling, or standing on uneven or adverse weather conditions. Use of hand and power tools, respirator usage, and occasional work in confined spaces may be required. Effective communication with management and supervision is essential, as is the ability to concentrate amid distractions, make decisions, and pay attention to detail. The Laborer must be able to work at various tempos and remember, examine, and observe details.
