About the Role
The HVAC Mechanical Project Team Leader oversees the execution and performance of mechanical retrofit projects, ensuring alignment with standardized project management practices and financial objectives. This role coordinates daily activities of mechanics and subcontractors, secures additional work and change orders, and serves as a technical resource for the Sales team while dedicating equal time to team development and project execution. • Zero Harm safety policy ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. • Plan, execute, and manage mechanical retrofit projects according to Johnson Controls standards. • Coordinate daily activities of mechanics and subcontractors; secure change orders. • Provide accurate estimates, proposals, and technical support to the Sales team. • Recruit, hire, and oversee staffing and resources for project teams. • Manage contracts, procurement, logistics, cost control, and financial reporting. • Lead project meetings, ensure compliance with codes, and maintain document control. • Facilitate smooth transition to truck‑based teams at project close‑out and coordinate owner training.

What You Bring
Ideal candidates bring six or more years of comprehensive HVAC service experience, particularly with fast‑track retrofit, remodel, and tenant‑improvement projects, and possess an engineering or trade‑school background. Strong verbal and written communication, proficiency in project management and financial accounting software, and solid computer skills in MS Office and related tools are essential. • 6+ years of HVAC service experience, especially in fast‑track retrofit and remodel projects. • Engineering degree or trade‑school education preferred (2‑4 years). • Strong communication skills; ability to convey technical information to non‑technical audiences. • Proficiency with project management software, financial accounting systems, and MS Office suite. • Experience negotiating material, equipment, and subcontractor buyouts.
