About the Role

The Accounting Data Analyst will support key transformation initiatives by leveraging data, analytics, and process insights to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of the Accounting organization. The role works closely with Accounting, Finance, Technology, and cross‑functional stakeholders to build analytical solutions, streamline workflows, and enhance data integrity across core processes. Key duties include building and maintaining datasets, dashboards, and reporting solutions for accounting close, reconciliations, and operational metrics; performing detailed data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes; and supporting forecasting models, variance analysis, and data‑quality checks. The analyst also automates routine reporting tasks and evaluates end‑to‑end accounting workflows to uncover gaps and opportunities for automation. Collaboration is central to the role: the analyst partners with Technology teams on system enhancements and integrations, supports testing and user‑acceptance of new tools, and works with Accounting SMEs to translate process needs into functional data requirements. Findings and recommendations are communicated clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences, and best practices for data governance and quality are established across the accounting ecosystem. • Build and maintain datasets, dashboards, and reports supporting accounting close and operational metrics. • Analyze accounting data to uncover trends, anomalies, and root causes. • Develop forecasting models, variance analysis, and data quality checks. • Automate routine reporting and data‑preparation tasks. • Evaluate end‑to‑end accounting workflows to identify gaps and automation opportunities. • Translate process requirements into functional data specifications with Accounting SMEs. • Partner with Technology teams on system enhancements, integrations, and data‑mapping. • Support testing, validation, and user‑acceptance of new tools and automated workflows. • Document data flows, process maps, and reporting logic for scalability. • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences. • Establish best practices for data governance, consistency, and quality across the accounting ecosystem.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field, and have 2–4+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or data analysis. Required skills include strong Excel and data‑manipulation abilities, familiarity with analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL or Python, and a solid understanding of core accounting principles and GAAP. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field. • Possess 2–4+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or data analysis. • Demonstrate strong Excel and data‑manipulation skills. • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, or Python. • Understand core accounting principles including accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP. • Exhibit analytical mindset, clear communication, and continuous‑improvement orientation. • Preferred: experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday) and prior transformation or automation projects.
