About the Role

The position operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm at WM’s material‑disposal facility in Show Low, Arizona, providing predictable work hours and a reliable routine. As a senior mechanic you will service and repair essential heavy‑equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, and front‑end loaders at one of WM’s recycling facilities, ensuring equipment reliability and supporting operations that serve over 20 million customers. The role requires troubleshooting complex mechanical and hydraulic systems, performing preventative maintenance, and maintaining accurate service documentation, all while adhering to rigorous safety and environmental standards. • Participate in a company stock purchase plan. • Repair bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front‑end loaders, yard trucks, tractors, forklifts, and company vehicles. • Diagnose and fix differentials, hydraulic, motor, transmission, drive, air‑conditioning, and electrical systems. • Perform preventative maintenance according to site checklists. • Complete work orders, card files, PM checklists, and oil‑sample documentation. • Service auxiliary equipment such as light plants, water pumps, and welders.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least six years of heavy‑equipment maintenance experience, a clean driver’s license, be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the U.S., and able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical examination. Success in this position is driven by independent work habits, accountability for quality, strong communication, and a curious, problem‑solving mindset. The job involves frequent physical activity—including lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing, and standing—in environments that may be noisy, dirty, and exposed to extreme weather, with reasonable accommodations available as needed. • Hold at least 6 years of heavy‑equipment maintenance experience. • Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Be 18 years or older, eligible to work in the U.S., and pass drug screening and physicals. • Ability to lift, push, pull, crouch, climb, stand, walk, and work in noisy, dirty, and extreme‑weather conditions. • Thrive working independently, take accountability for quality, communicate effectively, and demonstrate curiosity and determination in problem‑solving.
