About the Role
The Construction Inspector role focuses on highway and bridge inspection projects in central Florida, requiring site travel, thorough documentation, and coordination with engineers, contractors, utilities, and government officials. • Travel to various project sites to conduct inspection and testing duties. • Follow standard procedures and specifications for documentation and inspection of construction activities. • Read, interpret, and ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and contracts. • Calculate, report, document, and communicate daily construction data verbally and in writing. • Compute quantities for concrete, asphalt, steel, earthwork, drainage structures, and traffic control devices. • Operate company vehicle, computer, and testing equipment. • Report construction progress and issues to senior field and administrative personnel, engineers, contractors, utilities, and government officials. • Document field changes, as‑built plans, daily diaries, and material test reports.

What You Bring
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent (or a civil engineering degree), at least two years of construction or inspection experience—preferably in water, wastewater, municipal, roadway, or bridge work—and be able to obtain specific certifications within six months of hire. A valid driver’s license and the ability to lift 50 lb are also required. • Work in office or outdoor environments under varying weather conditions as required. • Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent (or a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering). • Possess at least two years of construction or construction‑inspection experience, preferably in water/wastewater, municipal, roadway, or bridge work. • Obtain required certifications within six months of hire (CTQP Final Estimates Level I, FDOT Advanced MOT, CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I, CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Levels I & II, CTQP Asphalt Roadway Levels I & II, CTQP Pile Driving Inspection, CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection, Nuclear Radiation Safety, Florida Stormwater/Erosion/Sedimentation Control). • Maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to lift 50 lb.
