About the Role

In this position you will receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, diagnose equipment and system malfunctions, and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. You will follow troubleshooting procedures, consult technical manuals, read blueprints, and install various manufacturers’ fire and life safety systems. Excellent customer service is required, including clear communication, obtaining signatures, completing service acknowledgements, and participating in an on‑call rotation. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing installed panels, replacing devices, resolving low‑voltage circuit issues, and testing systems. You must organize technical resources, communicate effectively, program fire alarm, security, and access‑control panels, and document all activities promptly. Occasional after‑hours work, upselling opportunities, and providing quotes to support recommendations are also part of the job. • Receive and assess service calls for fire alarm and building system malfunctions. • Diagnose, repair, and install fire & life safety systems from multiple manufacturers. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. • Communicate with customers, obtain signatures, and complete service acknowledgements. • Participate in on‑call rotation and mentor fellow service technicians. • Provide recommendations, quotes, and upsell solutions to improve facility efficiency.

What You Bring

We require at least five years of documented experience with low‑voltage electrical systems such as fire/life safety, access control, nurse call, or paging, and NICET Level II certification is preferred. Candidates must be able to read blueprints and manuals, use test equipment, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Physical ability to lift 50‑70 lb, work at heights up to 40 ft, and tolerate climbing ladders, scaffolding, ducts, and crawl spaces is essential, as is a valid driver’s license and flexibility to work weekends and travel overnight. • Minimum 5 years experience with low‑voltage electrical, fire/life safety, access control, nurse call or paging systems. • NICET Level II certification preferred and ability to read technical drawings. • Proficiency with test equipment, multimeters, and commissioning tools. • High school diploma or equivalent; physical ability to lift 50‑70 lb and work at heights up to 40 ft. • Strong communication, customer‑service, and organizational skills. • Valid driver’s license meeting company standards and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional travel.
