About the Role

In this position you will receive service calls, assess equipment or system malfunctions, and diagnose, service, and repair electronic fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. You will follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures, use technical manuals and bulletins, and install fire & life safety systems from multiple manufacturers, including SimplexGrinnell. You will read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and operational manuals, communicate consistently with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction, and complete service acknowledgements via smart devices. Participation in an on‑call rotation, mentoring of team members, and providing recommendations, solutions, and quotes to improve facility efficiency are also key responsibilities. • Receive service calls and assess equipment/system malfunctions • Diagnose, service, and repair electronic fire alarm and related building systems • Follow troubleshooting procedures using manuals, change notices, and bulletins • Service, troubleshoot, and install fire & life safety systems from multiple manufacturers, including SimplexGrinnell • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and operational manuals • Communicate consistently with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction • Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding via smart phones or laptops • Obtain customer signatures upon completion of service calls • Participate in scheduled on‑call rotation and mentor team members • Provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes to improve facility efficiency and identify upselling opportunities • Perform panel programming, device replacement, low‑voltage circuit troubleshooting, and system testing • Maintain truck inventory for timely response

What You Bring

The ideal candidate has 4+ years documented experience with low‑voltage electrical systems such as fire/life safety, access control, nurse call, and paging, and can read blueprints and operate test equipment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; NICET Level II certification is strongly preferred. A valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50‑70 lb, and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional after‑hours calls, are essential. • Follow safety guidelines and possess a valid driver’s license • Required: 4+ years experience with low‑voltage electrical, fire/life safety, access control, nurse call, paging systems • Ability to read blueprints and operate test equipment (multimeter, digital analyzer) • High school diploma or equivalent; NICET Level II certification preferred
