About the Role
The Structural Welder creates frames for large structures, setting up equipment and welding pipe, plate, or structural steel using various arc and gas‑shielded techniques. The role demands quality work with reasonable efficiency, certification acquisition as needed, and safe operation of tools in plant or construction job‑site settings. • Cut and drill structural metal pieces to size and position them for welding • Ensure welds meet safety and industry standards • Perform simple piping installations and repairs • Assist other mechanics or craft workers as needed • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds • Work in adverse weather conditions and confined spaces • Make decisions and focus on detailed, accurate work
