About the Role
As a Field Engineer/APM, you will act as the on‑site leader for health and safety, ensure high‑quality reporting and workmanship, and oversee that engineering work is performed professionally and ethically. Your core duties include contract administration, project planning, scheduling, and reporting while advising Project Management on contractual and project issues. You will work closely with the General Foreman and be involved in both above‑grade and below‑grade substation installation. • Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite • Review historical data and assist in bid preparation • Perform material and quantity takeoffs from bid documents • Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews • Conduct field surveying, elevation control, and as‑built data compilation • Compile and process daily labor timesheets • Participate in safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and training sessions • Execute basic engineering calculations and technical drafting • Prepare submittals, purchase orders, and minor solicitations • Maintain project schedule and update cost data • Generate change orders and review as‑built information • Estimate, forecast, and manage craft install unit rates • Manage earned value, schedule, change management, and cost metrics • Coordinate construction equipment inventory

What You Bring
Candidates should possess 2–3 years of construction field experience, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or an equivalent blend of education and experience, and the ability to travel or relocate as needed. Strong safety awareness, excellent communication skills, and a motivated, detail‑oriented work ethic are essential. The role requires reliable attendance, the ability to meet deadlines, and professional interaction with supervisors and team members. Employees must follow safety policies, work normal hours with overtime or weekends when required, and adapt to varied locations and conditions. • 2–3 years construction field experience • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent • Willingness to travel and relocate as needed • Ability to read and analyze engineering plans and specifications • Strong safety orientation and commitment to zero injuries • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) • Highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and strong work ethic • Regular, reliable attendance and ability to meet deadlines • Professional interaction with supervisors, employees, and team members • Adherence to safety policies and procedures • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and at varied locations
