About the Role
The Project Manager I oversees project finances, leads EPC contract negotiations, manages vendor procurement, and maintains equipment and financial projections. They also process invoices and owner billings, supervise subcontracts and trade‑partner selections, handle contract changes, and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers. • Manage overall financial health of projects • Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules • Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers • Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections • Allocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices • Provide financials and billings to accounting, create monthly owner billings • Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and selections of trade partners • Handle billings, contract management, and change orders • Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedback

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Manager I to lead projects with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment. This role involves managing project quality, timeliness, and safety, mentoring the project team, and developing strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication skills. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, mechanical or electrical engineering, construction management, or possess equivalent experience, and have at least six years of relevant experience. They should be detail‑oriented, understand basic construction law, be proficient with Microsoft Office and project applications, exhibit a positive professional attitude, possess strong customer service skills, and hold a current driver’s license. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience • Minimum six years of related experience • Proven ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projects • Detail‑orientation to organize and manage multiple project tasks • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices • Preference for experience in commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, project, and web applications • Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies • Current driver’s license

The position offers a base salary ranging from $113,500 to $170,300, with higher ranges for select locations, and eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
