About the Role
The Approved Electrician is tasked with installing, inspecting, testing and maintaining electrical and electromechanical systems across our portfolio. Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, assembling wiring and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering high‑quality service to clients. The role also involves planning daily work, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting apprentice electricians. • Undertake electrical installation, inspection, testing and maintenance • Diagnose and repair faults using test equipment and hand tools • Assemble, install, test and maintain wiring, equipment, appliances and fixtures • Train apprentice electricians • Maintain high standards of safe working practice and efficient execution • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components • Inspect systems for hazards, defects and code compliance • Advise management on equipment safety risks • Test continuity and compatibility of circuits with meters and oscilloscopes • Liaise with stakeholders and contractors to ensure high‑quality service and customer satisfaction • Plan and organise daily work to meet allocated timeframes • Produce survey reports as required • Deliver client commitments meeting agreed KPIs and service levels • Provide high standard customer service for internal and external interactions • Attend regular meetings and adhere to health & safety policies and risk assessments

What You Bring
We seek an electrician with a Level 3 qualification, at least three years of practical experience, and familiarity with the social housing sector. Candidates must hold 18th Edition certification and demonstrate strong analytical, communication and safety‑focused skills, comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces and in varied weather conditions. A flexible attitude, ability to build effective relationships and a clean driving licence are essential. • Level 3 Electrical Qualification (required) • Minimum 3 years’ electrician experience (required) • Minimum 1 year experience in social housing sector (required) • 18th Edition Regulations (required) • 2391 Testing Certificate (desirable) • Asbestos awareness (desirable) • Work carefully, methodically and safely • Ability to work at heights and in all weather conditions • Willingness to work in confined spaces • Flexible approach and ability to prioritize workload • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills • Ability to read technical drawings, plans and wiring diagrams • Strong analytical, numeracy and literacy skills • IT literate (desirable) • Hold ECS or CSCS card and full clean driving licence
