About the Role
• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair of energized and de‑energized overhead lines. • Lead crew members in the foreman's absence. • String overhead wire. • Set poles and anchors. • Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear. • Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems. • Replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits. • Operate around energized high‑voltage systems with skill and care. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools. • Identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit. • Apply grounding procedures. • Properly install and remove PPE and cover‑ups. • Climb various structures (wood, steel, etc.) using appropriate tools. • Phase out a line using phasing sticks. • Plan safe work based on job prints or work orders. • Conduct pre‑job or tailgate briefings effectively. • Safely perform reconductoring jobs. • Install and remove mechanical jumpers safely. • Use a load‑bust tool. • Travel long distances on short notice when required. • Work extended periods in various locations as needed. • Inspect rubber goods and PPE properly. • Follow company safety rules and all other policies.

What You Bring
The Class A Lineman is a skilled position in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. This position works at various locations and may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands. • Perform rigorous physical labor. • Understand induced voltage. • Work safely at heights and in confined spaces. • Glove and work live high‑voltage distribution lines. • Work outdoors, often in inclement weather. • Minimum five years of recent field experience. • Read and communicate effectively in English. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit within 60 days of hire; CDL preferred. • Lift more than 50 lb. • Be willing to work weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules as needed. • Self‑motivated.
