About the Role
The role encompasses overseeing facility operations, maintenance strategies, compliance, vendor relationships, budgeting, project execution, team supervision, and emergency response, all aligned with the company's safety and integrity values. • Direct daily facility operations, including building repairs, maintenance, and utility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing). • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime. • Ensure 100% compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local EHS regulations; manage risk assessments and fire safety systems. • Negotiate and oversee contracts with external vendors for maintenance, security, landscaping, and specialized repairs. • Create and manage capital and operational budgets (CapEx/OpEx) to achieve cost‑efficient operations. • Lead construction projects, renovations, and equipment installations. • Supervise maintenance teams, technicians, and custodians, providing training and performance oversight. • Serve as primary contact for after‑hours facility emergencies such as power outages or security breaches. • Maintain compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity in all actions. • Reduce equipment downtime percentage. • Meet budget adherence targets (planned vs. actual expenditure). • Achieve preventive maintenance schedule compliance.

What You Bring
Candidates should have strong technical knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, along with proven leadership skills and at least five years of experience in facility management or engineering within a manufacturing environment. Problem‑solving ability, proficiency with CMMS and MS Office, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering or facilities management are required, with certifications such as CFM, FMP, or LEED considered advantageous. Key performance indicators include reduced downtime, budget adherence, and compliance with preventive maintenance schedules. Required qualifications are prior admin experience in a factory setting, fluency in Kannada, and demonstrated ability to coordinate with statutory authorities for licenses and permits. Proficiency in spoken and written English is also mandatory. • Possess strong knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. • Demonstrate leadership ability to manage teams and contractors while fostering a safety‑focused culture. • Minimum 5 + years experience in facility management, maintenance, or engineering, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings. • Proven problem‑solving skills to quickly troubleshoot and prevent production stoppages. • Proficient with CMMS and Microsoft Office applications. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field (preferred). • Possess certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or LEED (advantageous). • Provide fluent spoken and written English communication. • Mandatory experience as an admin in a factory/plant/manufacturing environment. • Fluency in Kannada is essential. • Strong experience coordinating with statutory and government bodies for licenses, permits, and approvals.
