About the Role
The role offers the chance to lead smaller projects independently while supporting Senior Project Managers on major programmes, providing exposure, development and room to grow. You will also have opportunities to line‑manage and mentor junior colleagues and help shape the team’s strategic direction. Key responsibilities include developing project proposals, defining scope, resources, schedules and budgets, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation such as plans, cost forecasts, risk registers and stakeholder registers. You will monitor schedule, staff hours, budgets and expenditures, ensure health and safety approvals for site visits, and manage contracts and administration. Active management of change, risk and governance compliance, along with leading multidisciplinary environmental teams, will be essential. You will promote environmental betterment and net‑zero strategies while representing the Environment and Consents discipline to clients and internal stakeholders. • Develop project proposals, defining scope, resources, schedule and budgets. • Create and maintain project documentation: plans, cost forecasts, risk registers, stakeholder registers. • Monitor and control project schedule, staff hours, budgets and expenditures. • Secure health and safety approvals for site visits. • Manage contracts and contract administration. • Oversee project change, risk and governance compliance. • Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary environmental project teams. • Promote delivery of environmental betterment and net‑zero strategies. • Represent Environment and Consents team to clients and internal stakeholders.

What You Bring
We are looking for candidates with proven experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager, preferably in environmental or sustainability sectors, and a genuine interest in land‑based sustainable development. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to convey key messages and keep stakeholders aligned. You should have working knowledge of programme management—including work breakdown structures, dependencies and critical path—and be comfortable interpreting MS Project or Primavera outputs. Commercial and contractual awareness, financial acumen, and experience with change control are essential; familiarity with NEC3/4 contracts is an advantage. Membership of a professional body such as PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA or MRICS, and chartered status or progression towards it, is also expected. • Proven experience as Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager, preferably in environment/sustainability. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Knowledge of programme management, WBS, dependencies, critical path and MS Project/Primavera outputs. • Strong commercial and contractual awareness with financial acumen and change‑control experience. • Familiarity with NEC3/4 professional services contracts (advantageous). • Membership in a professional institution (PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA, MRICS) and chartered status or progression.
