About the Role

Key responsibilities include conducting all phases of archaeological field work such as survey, site recordation, testing, monitoring, and data recovery; assisting with documentation, mapping, and GPS data collection; performing technical research and contributing to reports; analyzing and documenting prehistoric and historic sites and artifacts; and working with field, lab, and office staff to meet AECOM quality standards. What You Bring

AECOM is seeking a Mid‑level Archaeology Technician III for a remote, part‑time, on‑call role reporting to the Cultural Resources team in Portland. The position focuses on field projects in Oregon and Washington, requiring candidates to be based in the Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA area and to travel overnight as needed. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma with four years of relevant archaeological experience, a valid driver’s license with a good record, and U.S. citizenship. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related field, five or more years of diverse field methodology experience, completion of an archaeological field school, proficiency with GPS/GIS, and strong Microsoft Office skills. • Minimum: high school diploma + 4 years experience, valid driver’s license, U.S. citizenship. • Preferred: bachelor’s degree, 5+ years field experience, field school completion, GIS/GPS skills, Microsoft Office proficiency.
