About the Role
The position provides local technical assistance across due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of public and private sector projects. The successful candidate will engage in all aspects of transmission line design, including new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber‑optic additions. Under general supervision, the engineer will collect and analyze data from work sites, surveys, GIS, geotechnical sources, and other matrices. Responsibilities include basic civil engineering research and inspections, routine engineering functions, verification of site characteristics, generation of accurate documentation, compliance with safety guidelines, completion of required training, and ethical decision‑making regarding company resources. • Collect and analyze site data, surveys, GIS, and geotechnical information for project development. • Conduct basic civil engineering research, inspections, and verification of site conditions. • Perform routine engineering tasks and provide entry‑level technical assistance on design and safety. • Produce accurate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field logs. • Follow safety guidelines, complete required training, and uphold ethical decision‑making. • Assist with design of new transmission lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber‑optic additions. • Utilize Microsoft Office and basic technical writing to support project deliverables. • Maintain compliance with civil construction laws, codes, and permit requirements.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, 0–1 years of post‑graduation experience, strong research and analytical skills, familiarity with design/build processes and civil construction regulations, effective interpersonal and communication abilities, self‑leadership, the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, basic technical writing and software proficiency, a proven safety record, flexible scheduling, occasional travel, and fluency in English. Preferred qualifications include Engineer‑in‑Training certification, experience with design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and others, prior relevant internships, active participation in professional organizations, a minimum 2.75 GPA, and coursework covering structural analysis, concrete and steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying.
