About the Role
This role is a Journeyman Electrician I position focused on installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring, conduit, equipment, and fixtures in an industrial environment. The electrician will perform both underground and above‑ground cable and conduit installations and lead less‑skilled electricians to maintain a safe work environment. The electrician must enforce Zachry and site‑specific safety policies, oversee coworkers for compliance, and participate in safety assessments and meetings. Coordination with multi‑craft electricians, foremen, superintendents, and project managers is required to ensure work aligns with project directives. Core technical responsibilities involve interpreting plans, installing and maintaining electrical systems, testing equipment, and ensuring proper grounding and temporary power distribution. The role also includes inspecting tools and equipment to guarantee safe operation. • Read and interpret prints, drawings, schematics, and plans. • Provide reliable transportation and be available to work 7 days per week. • Ensure compliance with Zachry and site‑specific safety rules; oversee coworkers for safety. • Follow directions from multi‑craft electricians, foremen, superintendents, and project managers. • Adhere to lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and inspect work areas for hazards. • Perform detailed inspections of hand and power tools for safe operation. • Examine blueprints to locate circuits, panels, conduit, and equipment. • Install, cut, bend, and pull conduit and cables per NFPA 70 (NEC 2014). • Fabricate and install cable trays; terminate wires to outlets, switches, panels, and distribution systems. • Test and verify electrical connections using clamp meters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and harmonic testers. • Install and maintain temporary power systems and associated distribution. • Ensure proper grounding and bonding of equipment and facilities. • Lead Safety Task Assessment (STA) meetings and complete ZCAP Electrician program. • Apply mathematics to validate installations per NEC 2014 standards.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Journeyman or Master Electrician license, an NCCER Industrial Electrician certification, or have completed the Zachry Craft Advancement Program (ZCAP) Journeyman qualification. They must be able to read and interpret prints, drawings, schematics, and plans, possess the necessary hand and power tools, work at heights up to 300 ft, and meet the physical demands of the job, including reliable transportation and availability to work seven days a week. Essential skills include the use of mathematics to validate installations, strong organization and time‑management abilities, effective communication, teamwork, and a customer‑service orientation. The work environment demands standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 lb, and occasional work at heights, while wearing required personal protective equipment in all weather conditions. • Hold a Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician license, NCCER Industrial Electrician certification, or ZCAP Journeyman qualification. • Use and possess required hand, power, and layout tools. • Work at heights up to 300 ft and meet physical demands (lift ≤25 lb, stand, walk, bend, etc.). • Demonstrate organization, time management, active listening, decision‑making, and customer service skills. • Communicate effectively with co‑workers and supervisors; work as a team player. • Wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, steel‑toe boots) in all weather conditions.
