About the Role

The Superintendent I will oversee project scheduling, review construction documents, coordinate with design engineers, develop site logistics, supervise crews, mentor staff, and manage safety, quality, risk, and compliance to ensure successful project execution. • Plan and implement project schedules, including three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead plans. • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability. • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers to resolve discrepancies. • Develop and oversee site logistics and utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment. • Conduct on‑site orientations, pre‑construction planning sessions, and project meetings. • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; manage hiring, transfers, and dismissals. • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents and other team members. • Ensure accurate task coding on timecards and track craft productivity. • Provide high‑level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance. • Identify and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and improve processes.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent I to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline, while enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. Visa sponsorship is not available. Site Development experience is required, and the role involves 100% travel with rotations home every three weeks for four days. Candidates should hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering, or construction management, or have 10 years of trade experience, plus a minimum of five years in construction management. A valid driver’s license, ability to travel up to 100%, strong organizational and communication skills, basic knowledge of construction law, and intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency are required. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, and the posting typically remains open for at least five days.
