About the Role

The Groundman Transmission role supports the electrical transmission network in an entry‑level capacity. Employees work safely around energized high‑voltage equipment, following strict safety protocols and using appropriate personal protective equipment. • Execute new construction, maintenance, and repair tasks on energized and de‑energized transmission lines safely. • String overhead wire and set poles, anchors, and related structures. • Assist with pole framing, setting, removal, and structure assembly/disassembly. • Apply rigging techniques, hand lines, and knot tying for line work. • Operate and maintain hand tools, chainsaws, bush axes, ladders, and PPE. • Establish and maintain proper work zones, flag and tag procedures, and minimum approach distances. • Perform equipment grounding, work‑zone setup, and basic bucket rescue/escape operations. • Inspect rubber goods, covers, and personal protective equipment for condition and compliance. • Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods at varied locations. • Conduct DOT vehicle pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and adhere to company safety policies. • Provide overtime coverage, including weekends and holidays, as required.

What You Bring

The job requires physical strength, the ability to lift heavy loads, work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel on short notice, and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License. Workers must have basic knowledge of rigging, hand tools, ladder safety, grounding, work‑zone setup, and be able to follow directions and company policies. • Hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License and lift loads exceeding 50 lb.
