About the Role

The rigging assembler assembles rigging systems to lift and move equipment or materials for construction projects, ensuring that loads are safely secured and moved. • Load, transport, unload, and select appropriate cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves based on load weight and size. • Attach pulleys and blocks to overhead structures like beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms using bolts and clamps. • Secure loads with grappling devices (loops, wires, ropes, chains) to crane hooks. • Direct crane operators or hoisting engineers via hand signals, loudspeaker, radio, or telephone to ensure safety. • Set up braces and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches. • Tie various knots as required. • Assemble and disassemble cranes. • Splice rope and wire cables to create or repair slings and tackle. • Direct workers in hoisting machinery onto or off ships, railcars, trucks, or cars. • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. • Observe all safety rules and procedures. • Coordinate hand and foot movements according to visual signals and directions, adhering to accuracy standards. • Rate information using measurable and checkable standards. • Interpret flat drawings or diagrams and visualize them as solid objects. • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems. • Plan work and select appropriate tools. • Compare and identify differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
