Assistant Director of Engineering

We are looking for an Assistant Director of Engineering at The Suites at Falls Creek in Branson, MO. In this role you will advise and control engineering operations within the resort, supervising mechanical, structural, electrical, and other maintenance systems, and you will collaborate with the Resort Leadership Team to develop maintenance programs, engage team members, maintain an accurate budget, and identify opportunities to achieve annual business goals. As an Assistant Director of Engineering you will execute your responsibilities in alignment with our Spirit of Service culture and drive company success by performing the tasks outlined below to the highest standards. You will assist the Director of Engineering and take ownership of special projects, inspections, vendor relations, and budget control. • Assist the Director of Engineering with electrical, mechanical, construction, and maintenance programs, including safe operation of building utilities such as natural gas, electricity, and water • Assign and verify completion of routine maintenance for mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related equipment to ensure safe facility operation • Visually inspect work quality and direct staff and contractors according to performance and productivity standards • Complete special projects previously assigned to the Director • Communicate with city officials to maintain permits and licenses, including annual fire department inspections • Coordinate elevator and escalator inspections with regulatory agencies and, when required, work with Secret Service and other officials to secure the property • Liaise between the hotel and vendors to evaluate new hotel technology and products • Attend conventions, seminars, or classes to stay current on trends that improve guest satisfaction and reduce costs • Serve as shop foreman and assume other supervisors’ responsibilities in their absence • Assist in negotiating contracts with outside contractors • Help establish and control the annual engineering budget
