About the Role
The role involves conducting electrical tests in accordance with safety and training requirements, covering procedures such as HiPot, Shunt Trip, PLC, HMI, component testing, configuration, NETA testing, and communication. These tests are performed on assembled switchboard products to ensure proper functionality. The technician must follow established safety protocols throughout all testing activities. • Perform electrical tests (HiPot, Shunt Trip, PLC, HMI, NETA, etc.) following safety procedures. • Verify and update product wiring revisions and ensure documentation reflects the current status. • Record and communicate nonconformances and design errors, and verify required rework. • Provide informal training to production personnel on testing and safety practices. • Interpret manufacturing documents, wiring diagrams, and component literature. • Apply UL, NEC, regional utility, and customer‑specific codes during testing and wiring. • Use multimeters and troubleshoot complex electronic systems. • Commit to a minimum two‑year project implementation period.

The technician serves as an informal trainer for production personnel, sharing expertise on testing procedures and safety practices. Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem‑solving skills are essential. Collaboration within a team environment is required to achieve project goals. Required education includes a High School Diploma or GED, with an Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Mechatronics, or equivalent military technical training; a BS in engineering or a technical degree with experience is preferred. Candidates need a minimum of three to five years of experience performing electrical testing and wiring switchboard or power distribution products. The position requires authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. A minimum two‑year commitment is required to support full project implementation, and eligibility to bid on other roles resets for two years unless approved by management. Receiving an offer does not constitute an employment contract. The role demands thorough knowledge of basic electricity, component functionality, and assembled SWBD product designs such as PRL‑C, PRL‑I, and IFS. The technician must possess competency in UL, NEC, regional utility codes, and customer‑specific requirements, and be able to read and interpret manufacturing documents including wiring diagrams and engineering drawings. Proficiency with multimeters, troubleshooting complex electronics, and adhering to safety procedures is essential. Physical ability to lift at least 35 lb with reasonable accommodation is required. • Lift a minimum of 35 lb with reasonable accommodation. • Hold a High School Diploma/GED; Associate’s in Electronics/Mechatronics or equivalent military training; BS in engineering or technical degree preferred. • Require 3‑5 years of experience in electrical testing and switchboard/power distribution wiring. • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, persuasive, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
