About the Role

The Plant Manager will supervise mine employees and processing plant operations, ensure safety procedures are properly implemented, and control costs to meet budgets and achieve savings. Additional duties include identifying deficiencies for continuous improvement, managing staff performance, ensuring compliance with company and government regulations, directing mine and pit planning, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and collaborating with the quality control and sales teams. • Supervise mine crew and processing plant staff. • Enforce and monitor safety procedures. • Manage operational costs to stay within budget and generate savings. • Identify process gaps and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives. • Set performance goals, provide feedback, and develop staff through training. • Ensure adherence to all company and governmental regulations. • Plan and develop mine pits and extraction strategies. • Support budgeting and financial forecasting activities. • Coordinate with quality control to maintain product standards. • Work closely with the sales team to align production with market demand. • Participate actively in local community engagement.

What You Bring

Candidates should preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in mining or geological engineering and have at least five years of experience in quarry or sand‑and‑gravel operations, including five years in a supervisory or management role. Required skills include knowledge of profit and loss statements, strong communication and leadership abilities, a proven safety record under MSHA Part 46 & 48, basic math and surveying competence, familiarity with environmental policies, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. • Bachelor’s degree in mining, geological engineering or related field (preferred). • Minimum five years experience in quarry or sand‑and‑gravel operations. • At least five years in a supervisory or management capacity within mining. • Understanding of profit‑and‑loss statements and basic accounting. • Excellent communication, leadership, and team‑building skills. • Ability to mentor lead persons and foremen. • Track record of implementing best practices for quality, maintenance, production and safety. • Proven MSHA Part 46/48 safety compliance. • Strong basic mathematics competency. • Basic surveying and mapping abilities (preferred). • Knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices. • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Office suite.
