About the Role

The position encompasses strategic planning, business development, operational oversight, and project delivery. You will collaborate across GHD’s practices, develop tactical strategies aligned with regional growth, and ensure financial performance and operational excellence for the Southeast Transportation Business Group. • Develop and execute strategic business plan and budget for Southeast Transportation practice. • Lead growth strategy for mobility, traffic engineering, highway, roadway, and bridge planning and design. • Collaborate with maritime and coastal practice planning. • Build and maintain relationships with key clients to win new work and increase profitability. • Leverage market knowledge to secure new clients and promote GHD brand through professional organizations. • Oversee operational performance, including chargeable effort, sell rate, and project financials. • Forecast regional market needs with other business group leaders. • Direct project delivery, managing scope, schedule, and budgets for multi‑faceted traffic and transportation projects. • Lead and mentor project teams across the Southeast, maintaining client‑facing responsibilities. • Support proposal development and prepare engineering contracts/agreements. • Review and approve reports and design plans for various projects. • Drive business development activities to position GHD for new work. • Deliver projects from proposal to detailed design, data analysis, and partner management. • Manage mobility/transportation planning, highway/roadway/bridge design, traffic signal design, complete street analyses, roundabout design, and traffic/parking studies. • Provide leadership, foster team collaboration, and mentor junior staff.

What You Bring

Typical projects include mobility and transportation planning, highway/roadway/bridge design for state and local agencies, traffic signal design and operation, complete street analyses, roundabout planning, and traditional traffic and parking studies. Additional technical capabilities such as maritime and coastal practice integration are valuable. A Professional Engineer (PE) license and 15‑20 years of relevant transportation experience are required, with solid technical knowledge in traffic engineering, transportation planning, and roadway design. Experience with DOT and local public agencies, familiarity with GDOT standards, and proficiency in multiple traffic engineering software programs are preferred. Strong leadership, team collaboration, and the ability to mentor junior staff are essential. • Hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license with 15–20 years of transportation industry experience. • Demonstrated experience with DOT and local agency projects; familiarity with GDOT standards preferred. • Possess strong expertise in multiple traffic engineering software programs.
