About the Role

• Review work done under responsible charge and provide Professional Engineer endorsements; and • Manage field work and contractor oversight services to support the collection of environmental data and/or perform construction quality assurance. • Manage projects and delegate tasks to others. • Prepare Opinions of Probable Construction Costs / Engineers Estimates. • Apply, document, and monitor quality assurance and quality control procedures. • Manage the work performance for multiple dynamic projects, develop solutions to project challenges, and communicate proactively with staff of all levels. • Attend and present project designs and applications at public meeting with various local, state and federal organizations; • Make decisions and perform as an independent thinker and leader, but also collaborate with project team personnel. • Manage and prepare permit and construction-level civil/site design packages to support a wide variety of land development projects that comply with applicable state and federal regulations; • Advance career knowledge by attending continuing educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, etc. • Prepare construction and industrial Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans; • Design stormwater management systems adapted for specific development sectors in accordance with applicable local, state, or federal regulations; • Conduct hydrologic analyses to support planning, development, permitting and design of stormwater management systems; • Work with other project managers, engineering staff, permitting specialists and drafters to: • Prepare technical design reports, compliance reports and permit application packages; • Work directly with clients professionally and display service-oriented attitude. • Supervise and assist with the preparation of engineering plans such as layout and materials plans, grading plans, and soil erosion and sediment control plans;

What You Bring

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, assemblies, corridors, grading tools, profiles, plan production tools, coordinate systems and earthwork volume calculations; • 15-20 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer with a consulting firm; • Apply strong AutoCAD Civil 3D, technical writing, data management, organizational, and communication skills to projects and proposals. • Experience with the development and implementation of technical plans, designs, and specifications; • Experience developing or reviewing Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans or Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), hazardous waste contingency plans, emergency response plans, or emergency action plans. • Experience in performing engineer’s opinion of probable cost estimates; • Experience in HEC-RAS and/or other types of Hydraulic Modeling. • Experience performing construction monitoring and oversight; and • Travel (typically 10 to 15%) throughout the US, primarily MA or RI • Ability to prepare proposals and manage budgets, schedules, invoicing and subcontractor procurement and oversight. • Experience with a variety of technical stormwater calculations such as drainage pipe sizing, outlet protection sizing, temporary and permanent stormwater best management practice sizing, and water quality calculations; • Experience independently analyzing and interpreting data regarding site uses and topography to develop stormwater management plans and best management practices; • Client service skills; and • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering; • Proficiency with HydroCAD stormwater modeling/hydrology software; • Willingness to build a sustaining practice and engage in business development efforts including being active in professional organizations. • Experience preparing and reviewing written technical reports; • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Valid Massachusetts or Rhode Island Professional Engineers licensure; • Proficiency with MassDEP Stormwater Management Handbook and/or RI Stormwater Design and Installation Standards Manual
