About the Role
The Project Director is responsible for managing and coordinating projects of all sizes and complexities through all phases of design, permitting, and construction. They provide leadership for site Project Managers by managing, coordinating, and developing ATI staff, and assume full responsibility for project financials, including establishing payment terms and collecting outstanding payments. Operating with significant independence and minimal supervision, they serve as the principal project representative, while Senior and Executive Project Directors also manage and mentor assigned Project Estimators. Project Directors are authorized to oversee projects up to $250,000 in value, whereas Senior and Executive Project Directors have no monetary limits and are expected to generate their own business. • Review projects to ensure scope is clearly documented and understood by the customer. • Establish a budget for each project that ensures completion at budgeted gross margins. • Assume overall responsibility for project financials, including pricing, costs, margins, and budget creation. • Set payment terms, including progress billings and deductible payments according to ATI best practices. • Direct Project Managers on established payment terms and collection of outstanding amounts. • Collect all project outstanding accounts receivable payments directly or via legal and collections partnerships. • Mentor Project Estimators, reviewing financial performance and conducting joint job walks. • Conduct 360‑degree and annual performance reviews for Estimators. • Identify training opportunities and administer rewards, motivation, and discipline as needed. • Establish an achievable completion schedule agreed upon with the customer. • Acquire, direct, and manage subcontractors; prepare and negotiate subcontractor agreements. • Review and inspect work performed to ensure quality. • Communicate continuously with the customer, Project Manager, and accounts receivable team. • Collaborate with customers to complete change orders. • Prepare and complete punch‑list items at project closeout, if applicable. • Resolve conflicts, warranty issues, and other complaints. • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and all company safety policies. • Participate in company‑sponsored marketing functions and events. • Uphold all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of restoration experience. Required experience includes three years as an Estimator or Project Manager with a disaster restoration company, knowledge of water mitigation, fire restoration, and mold remediation, and at least two years as a Project Director with excellent recent performance ratings for senior roles, and three years as a Senior Project Director for executive roles. Required certifications include IICRC certification at all levels and Xactimate certification: Level 1 for Project Directors, Level 2 for Senior Project Directors, and Level 3 for Executive Project Directors. The role demands the ability to work independently without supervision, strong organizational, time‑management, and multitasking skills, effective communication and relationship‑building, knowledge of water, fire, and mold trade practices, and the capability to read, interpret, and convey instructions. Senior and Executive Project Directors must also be able to train, supervise, and manage employees, exercise sound judgment, maintain high ethical standards, and handle emotional customer situations with compassion and promptness.
