Operations Technician

About the Role

• Deploy xCell systems domestically and internationally, handling setup, breakdown, and shipment preparation. • Manufacture, install, and commission equipment for new xCell builds and deployments. • Operate, maintain, and calibrate industrial additive manufacturing systems (FDM, SLS, MJF) to produce precision parts. • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on xCell systems, including compressors, HVAC, generators, electronics, and robotic tools. • Inspect parts during and after production to ensure dimensional, functional, and quality compliance. • Use post‑processing tools (media blasters, drill presses, hand tools) to ready parts for mission‑critical use. • Keep detailed digital logs of maintenance, performance data, spreadsheets, and technical drawings. • Report production or system issues promptly to leadership. • Participate in equipment training and follow safety and environmental protocols. • Travel as needed to support deployments, field operations, and installations.

What You Bring

U.S. citizenship or eligibility for the required security clearance is mandatory due to ITAR compliance. Firestorm is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and providing accommodations throughout the hiring process. • 2+ years hands‑on experience in additive manufacturing, equipment maintenance, or job‑shop environments. • Proven experience maintaining industrial‑grade AM hardware and production tools. • Proficiency with hand tools, mechanical systems, and basic diagnostics. • Ability to interpret and manage digital files, technical drawings, spreadsheets, and maintenance records. • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, mentoring peers. • Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, safety‑conscious and dependable. • Clear written and verbal communication. • Willingness to travel to remote locations and obtain/maintain a security clearance. • U.S. citizenship required. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field. • Experience in high‑tech, aerospace, or DoD manufacturing, including military or spacecraft/aircraft work. • Familiarity with nylon‑based powder AM technologies (SLS, MJF). • Experience with expeditionary manufacturing or containerized mobile platforms. • Hands‑on experience with kit/model/experimental aircraft builds or component assemblies. • Forklift operation experience or certification. • Ability to lift up to 30 lb and work in confined, elevated, or austere conditions. • Frequent domestic and international travel; overtime and occasional weekend work may be required. • Exposure to dust, heat, vibration, or loud noise; use of PPE required.
